Reading Time: 5 minutesInternet Explorer is not my favorite browser and it will never ever be in the near future unless Microsoft does something to improve its performance compared to Chrome and Firefox. However, being the webmaster of this site I need to constantly check my website in different browsers to make sure it is optimized for readers using different browsers. Today, when I opened IE it gave a message “ recover webpage” at the bottom of the page.
My Yahoo Keeps Freezing Up
On clicking “ recover webpage” button, it gave a message the website is not responding. Played with this issue for some time and noticed that the site did show up after almost 3-5mts. After playing around, I finally figured it out. This article gives you a detailed logical step by step method to get recover webpage problem solved.Check Internet Explorer settingsSlow performance and frequent crash of Internet Explorer can be attributed to the presence of a lot of temporary files and corrupted files in internet cache folder.
Also, changes can happen in the internal settings without your knowledge after using it over a period of time. Do an as mentioned in the link. An IE optimization will reset all IE settings and remove temporary files. This should fix most of the problems. Check if the problem is fixed now.If the above step didn’t fix the issue, this step has more chance of fixing this.
Close all Internet Explorer windows. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run window. type inetcpl.cpl to open internet options. Go to Advanced Tab. Click on Reset. Check Internet Explorer Add-onsAdd-ons give additional functionality to a web browser.
But the same add-ons are responsible for creating most problems in browsers. Check if the problem is created by add-ons.
Close all Internet Explorer windows. Click Start - Run - Type “ inetcpl.cpl“. Go to “ Programs” tab - Select “ Manage add-ons”. Under add-on type, select “ Toolbars and Extensions”. This will show you the list of all add-ons on the right side. Select an add-on and then select the Disable button at the right corner. Do the same for all add-ons.
Open Internet explorer after disabling all add-ons. If Internet Explorer works fine with add-ons disabled, this is an issue with an add-on. Now enable add-ons one by one followed by checking internet explorer.
Once you enable the corrupted add-on, Internet Explorer will show a problem. Now you can go to add/remove program to remove the corrupted add-on.In my case, it was the shockwave flash object which was corrupted. Disabling it fixed the problem immediately. I removed Adobe Flash Player add-on. Re-installed it and everything worked fine.Check Internet Explorer settings using CcleanerThis is one additional step I added later as I was able to catch some issues using CCleaner.is one of the software, I recommend as a must have software in a computer with Windows Operating System. In this case, I recommend running Ccleaner because the entries that may not be displayed inside Internet options my get listed here.
Ccleaner is free for personal use. Open Ccleaner, go to Tools option on the left side, then click Startup. Click on Internet Explorer. You can see a list of add-ons which are connected to Internet Explorer.
Look for suspicious looking and then Disable it. Check if that fixes this problem. Once you confirm the problem is caused by a particular add-on, use the Delete option to remove it. Check this article on how toMake sure Internet Explorer files are healthy and working fineOver a period of time, Internet explorer.dll and.ocx files might also get corrupted after being subjected to attack from malwares and compatibility issues. Re-registering the IE.dll files will fix the problem.Copy the files below. Open command prompt with administrator privilege, right click on command prompt windows, click Paste and hit Enter. This will execute all the below commands in command prompt window.rem Script used to manually reregister Internet Explorer and Shell related.dllsrem Also included the Digital Signing and Cryptographic Provider.
Yahoo Keeps Freezing Up
Having suffered from a slow computer, I Googled “Recover website” and found A Tech Journey. With the help of your replies to request – and purchasing the PC Clean software advertised on your site – I was able to delete unnecessary data. But I am still plagued by my online back not working properly – and now Microsoft has joined in.Can I safely delete my bank account and then safely get it back? Any tips on what to do?By the way, I have found that if you click on the Recover website panel you are going round in circles – always restarting the process. I click on the X next to the panel – this turns red – and the log-in process goes on at its slow pace – eventually starting properly.
But the dreaded Recover website panel returns from time to time, even after the website working properly for quite a while. Sorry, the problem is still not clear to me.
I am unable to understand1)Which OS is installed in this computer?2)When you said the computer is slow, did you mean the computer slow or is it the web browser slow? This article is for browser issues.3)Which is the software that you installed? Please be specific. I did recommend using Ccleaner and superantispyware to remove junk files and other malicious programs.4)Where did you save bank account? This is what I suggest1)Never allow any programs to remember bank account. So if you have bank account stored inside a software, then remove it.2)Do an properly as mentioned in the link.Hope this helps. I didn’t explain very well. I have trouble in accessing my on-line bank account (not back account as I said before!).
The Recover Website link always pops up. I have Internet Explorer but have just added Google Chrome as an alternative and this works fine. Yes, you recommended CClean, but an advert on the website was for PC Clean and this is what I purchased.
It cleaned up the computer very well – except for the bank and Microsoft. I didn’t save the online bank account anywhere – presumably it is somewhere in the bank’s website archives, which I used to be able to access with (bank’s name not used here for obvious reasons). I did the IE optimisation from your website, but this didn’t cure the bank access fault. Thanks for clearing my doubts. If IE optimisation is done properly, there is nothing much we can do as it is the ultimate step that can be done to fix any IE issues.
Just couple of suggestions.1)While doing IE optimisation, if you go to Advanced tab (step 8), there is an option to Reset. This will help you to reset IE to original manufacturer settings by removing all add-ons and load default settings. If you have not tried it, it is worth trying.2)Check for any security software toolbars or extensions inside IE (Step 7). Top 10 mobiles. If yes, remove it.If nothing worked, I suggest shifting to chrome browser. Chrome browser is far superior to IE when it comes to performance and security.
I love Microsoft, but hates IE.Regarding banking details, nothing needs to be done. If it is not stored inside any software, there is nothing to worry about.
You may use Chrome browser for banking purpose. Here are some recommendations when. Have IE open, it has been hijacked by fake Microsoft Security warning that wants me to call a phone number etc. What I need to do is find out what the web address was for this poisoned page so that I can block it at the firewall. Unfortunately IE wont let me look at it as it has the fake warning up and I can’t get to the IE address line to capture the full address it is on. Is there a place I can look after I have killed IE in Taskmgr to see what URL IE was on that gave it the fake warning.Thanks,Ralph. This clearly is a case of browser infected by a malware or ransomware.
To fix this problem, this is what I would do.1)Do an as mentioned in the link. I would also take special care in checking the add-ons looking for a suspicious add-on, then try to disable and remove it.2)Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features.
Go through the list of installed programs. Remove suspicious looking entries especially the one which looks like a malware and the programs which are not used anymore.3)Download.
You may try the free version. Run a scan and fix the issue. Even running ccleaner should help. Here is a link on.Note: Step 1 is designed to remove malware from Internet explorer, while step 2 and 3 are for removing the malware completely from computer. So, if step 1 fixed the problem, please do complete step 2 and 3 as well to make sure the malware is removed.Keep us updated. I just did what you recommended, results still pending, but as far as your instructions go, I think you were more than clear on how to copy and paste these files. You may want to give a little bit better instructions on how to get to the Command Prompt however.
You simply say to right click to run as admin, but not how to get to the CP. I had no problem doing this but I’m thinking of someone with not much experience would be lost at this step. Thanks for your possible solution, because this has haunted me for months. I am now working on a website for my client. He is using internet explorer and it must have temporary files that are corrupt because he receives that “not responding” message. He is the only client that Is there any way I can do on my end to make sure that Internet Explorer uses get the best experience?
The solutions prescribed in this post requires me to go to the end-user’s computer to check out the their internet explorer settings. That is not viable with our customers who are located elsewhere.
Sorry for messaging late. Somehow I missed your message. As I said before, the best solution is try a different browser as Google Chrome or Firefox. The reason why the letters disappear, seems to me like a problem with the browser not completely loading up in time. When you want to write message, first write it on a notepad and then save it, so that you wont lose it. Then open your web browser, copy the contents of notepad to email and then send it.For computer freezing up, try to run the free software ccleaner and get rid of unnecessary and junk files. Also check if the security software in your computer is working properly. If not, uninstall it. Check if that makes a difference.
It is difficult to say what exactly happened. The steps mentioned in this article is enough to solve most problems. If possible, follow the same steps again and make sure it is done properly. Try disabling or remove all add-ons and check if that help in fixing the issue. You may also try using other web browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I hope Omnitech support will help you in installing new web browsers and use them.
Usually, these premium support carry a guarantee period where they will troubleshoot for free or they refund the amount if they can’t fix it.Hope you find this useful. Hi Neo,There are 5 steps which is guaranteed to fix the problem.1)Try.(I hope you already did that.
Just making sure, you did that properly as explained)2)Disable add-ons. Did you check by disabling all add-ons?
If the issue seems to be fixd after disabling all add-ons, enable add-on one by one till you reach the add-on which created the error message.3)If the issue is still not fixed. Try Reset option in Advanced Tab in Internet Options.
This will reset IE to original manufacturer settings.4)Go to C ontrol Panel - Programs and Features. Check for any suspicious looking toolbar and programs that might be related to the spaceship game. Remove it.5)Install free software Ccleaner. It is considered one of the must have software for any windows system for cleaning junk files. Inside Ccleaner, go to Tools option, then Startup.
On the right side, click on Internet Explorer. You might see a lot of startup entries for IE. Remove the unwanted.
(I am sure you might find something related to spaceship game there)Hope this will get the problems fixed. Appreciate if you can update the result. I have tried everything in your article, I have a laptop, Lenovo G570 Windows 7 x64 running IE11, upgraded from IE10, same issue. If I do not run IE without “Run as Administrator”, it is extremely slow, the circle of death run round and eventually you get to the page, in the application event log you receive event 1000 and 1001, fault bucket errors, appcrash errors, dllhost.exe and esent.dll. I have checked using four different malware and rootkit programs, it is clean. If I run as an administrator, no errors and runs fine. Next I will downgrade to IE9 or even IE8, or my last choice is a total reload of Windows.
I have many years of IT experience being an IT manager, but this one is kicking me a bit, thanks for any suggestion.
